The only two serious interactions I’ve personally had with him, other than the temple soaking my families money for 50 years, was when Rabbi Lustig offered to work on a Haiti project with me and then could not ever be reached again by phone or email.
Next he offered to help with a huge family emergency, acted like a complete ass, and never followed up as promised, or returned calls or emails. So they will be protested forever.
They are not a real religious institution anyhow, follow very few of the ancient rituals. Merely a great community center for like minded wealthy Jews, which doesn’t require a phony overpaid Rabbi really.
Rabbi Haberman is retired and a fantastic man still helping people at over 90 years old I think. He drove himself to my house on several occasions. And our deceased Rabbi Weinberg was always a great guy. Conversely, Lustig should retire, will never hold a candle to a menorah.
He and the Cantor do seem unusually close to the children though, hope they are not friends with pervert Rabbi Kaye (http://washingtonjewishweek.com/main.asp?SectionID=4&SubSectionID=4&ArticleID=4341) from Temple Har Shalom from the same liberal Montgomery County Jewish neighborhood, who was the first person out of hundreds busted on MSNBC Predators TV.
